In retrospect, this laid the groundwork for the hugely popular New Jack Swing sound that dominated the charts in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Another milestone for the group was their debut single, \"Magic's Wand\". It was the first rap song to have it's own music video on MTV. This compilation covers the successful period of their first albums. All of these albums went Platinum in the US and are still considered an essential part of the early days of hip-hop.
