“I wasn’t running against Hitler. I was running against the world.”
In the summer of 1936, right in the heart of Nazi Germany, Jesse Owens came to Berlin with a singular quest: To win gold for his country. Known as the “Buckeye Bullet” while attending Ohio State, Owens took to the world stage and singlehandedly debunked any propagandic notions of Aryan supremacy by winning four gold medals for the United States, making him one of the greatest icons of the 20th century.
His legend lives on!
